This design came about when I was researching a photo reference for another painting. The idea spontaneously sprang into my head and I knew I had to take action and bring it to life. The biggest inspiration for the design was the similarity between the fuchsia petals and the ruffles in a ballerina's tutu. Besides the resemblance between those two parts, I found the grace of a ballet dancer also comparable to the elegance of a flower.
